Job summary

Audubon is seeking a Project Cost Controls Specialist to join our Houston, TX office. The role plans and executes cost control requirements, provides accurate budget tracking and reporting, and communicates variances with proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.

You will develop work breakdown structures, coordinate with Estimating and Scheduling, monitor commitments, and prepare cost reports for management and client needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project cost controls experience.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables for data analysis.
• Experience with automated cost management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs assignments requiring standard cost techniques.
• Participates in project kick off.
• Works with Estimating and Scheduling to establish an accurate Cost Estimate and Budget.
• Coordinates with accounting to establish a Cost Breakdown Structure for asset depreciation.
• Enter all forecasted commitments and contingency to establish Project Cash Flow.
• Monitors procurement activity and verifies cost coding and budget balances.
• Investigates variances and recommends solutions or recovery plans.
• Interfaces with internal and external clients for successful cost control.
• Participates in Change Management to identify scope, cost and schedule changes.
• Prepares project management reporting and cost forecasts.
• Maintains project cost records and progress updates.
