Job summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections seeks an Associate Warden of Programs at the Northern Nevada Correctional Facility in Carson City. Incumbents train, supervise, evaluate staff, develop policies, allocate resources and oversee program delivery.

Under the Warden, the role directs custody, culinary, maintenance, or programs such as classification, medical, and education; requires strong leadership and compliance with agency rules.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of applicable experience with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate staff and subordinate supervisors.
• Knowledge of statutes, regulations, and agency policies governing corrections.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budget proposals, needs assessments, and future expenditures analysis.
• Control institutional budgets for staff, activities, equipment, supplies and structures.
• Develop, implement, and oversee policies, procedures, and long-range plans.
• Oversee programs including education, rehabilitation, and inmate services.
• Coordinate with outside agencies to secure resources not available internally.
• Review incidents and ensure appropriate actions are taken; monitor security.
• Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate performance of staff.
• Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate activities and represent agency interests.
