Job summary

Moog Space and Defense - Power and Data Division in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a Program Management Director to lead program management across three Business Units. You will develop and oversee functional strategies, establish baselines, drive process improvements, mentor senior leaders, and position program management as a growth enabler for revenue and profit.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years in program management, PMP or equivalent, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or Science (MBA preferred).
• At least 10 years of program management experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
• Proven ability to develop functional strategies, establish best practices, and implement large-scale processes.
• Experience leading in a matrixed organization with strong collaboration and influence skills.
• PMP certification or equivalent and demonstrated competency with recognized industry standards for managing government and commercial contract types.
• Demonstrated success managing customers at the executive level.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and oversee the implementation of functional strategies and objectives for program management across the Power and Data Division.
• Lead the program management function for multiple Power and Data Division businesses, including direct leadership of program management personnel.
• Establish program baselines that ensure execution meets or exceeds proposal margin targets.
• Identify, develop, and implement improved program management processes, tools, and best practices to support each Business Unit.
• Build and mentor senior program management leadership, ensuring required competencies and behaviors are fully embedded.
• Create performance metrics, dashboards, and management tools to monitor ongoing program management effectiveness.
• Review underperforming programs, partner with program leadership on mitigation plans, and oversee recovery execution.
• Position program management as a growth enabler for revenue and operating profit.
