Job summary

Green Thumb Industries seeks a Production Scheduler to translate demand signals into executable production plans across multiple SKUs while maintaining regulatory compliance and aligning with sales, procurement and quality targets.

You will manage MPS execution, schedule optimization, and inventory planning in a fast-paced cannabis manufacturing environment, ensuring timely releases and adherence to state requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a production environment as a Production Supervisor or in supply chain/procurement.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook). Tableau & State Tracking systems (METRC, Biotrack, MJ Freeway) a plus.
• Initiative-taking, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with commitment to quality work.
• High attention to details and due diligence.
• Adapts and thrives in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Superior communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling & Execution: Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule across product categories.
• Convert monthly production plans into detailed weekly and daily schedules by department and process.
• Sequence production to optimize throughput, minimize changeovers, and protect quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Operations, Quality and Compliance.
• Cannabis Regulatory & Compliance Scheduling: Integrate state and company regulatory requirements into production schedules.
• Coordinate production timing with state traceability systems (METRC, etc.).
• Schedule production around inspections, audits, and compliance deadlines.
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to production timing or sequencing.
• Inventory & Material Planning: Monitor WIP and Finished Goods to align with shipment velocity and forecasts.
• Build input allocations based on inventory, demand priorities, and shelf-life.
• Confirm material readiness prior to release and escalate shortages.
• Partner with Inventory and Finance to reconcile systems.
• Demand, Supply & Tradeoff Decisions: Review forecasts and flag when plans clash with capacity or constraints.
• Explain tradeoffs between SLA, inventory, labor cost, and compliance risk.
• Participate in S&OP/planning as the voice of production reality.
• Own schedule changes and escalation when plans break.
• Labor & Capacity Planning: Build capacity models by department and process.
• Identify bottlenecks and work with Operations to improve flow.
• Use historical data to improve schedule accuracy and planning.
• Translate staffing plans into executable schedules.
• Quality & Release Timing: Coordinate with QA for sampling, testing turnaround, and release timing.
• Adjust production plans when quality outcomes change.
• Support continuous improvement tied to yield and efficiency.
• Systems, Data & KPIs: Own scheduling-related systems; maintain clean data.
• Track metrics: schedule adherence, plan attainment, inventory accuracy, changeover efficiency.
• Use data to spot issues early and drive improvements.
