Green Thumb is seeking a Production Scheduler in the United States to own the day-to-day and week-to-week production schedule. This role translates demand and supply plans into executable schedules while balancing labor, materials, inventory, quality, safety, and compliance across cannabis operations.

The ideal candidate will manage the Master Production Schedule, sequence production, and adjust plans based on demand, labor, and regulatory constraints.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production environment as a Production Supervisor or similar supply chain and procurement experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook. Tableau & State Tracking systems (METRC, Biotrack, MJ Freeway) a plus.
  • Self-directed, initiative-taking, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with commitment to quality work.
  • High attention to details and due diligence.
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication and people skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling & Execution
  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across all product categories.
  • Convert monthly production plans into detailed weekly and daily schedules by department and process.
  • Sequence production to optimize throughput, minimize changeovers, and protect quality outcomes.
  • Continuously adjust schedules based on demand changes, labor availability, material constraints, QA release timing, and regulatory limitations.
  • Establish and maintain routings, run rates, batch sizes, and standard hours for all unit operations.
  • Balance line loading across departments and shifts, including overtime planning and resource reallocation.
  • Cannabis Regulatory & Compliance Scheduling; integrate state requirements into schedules (batch size limits, genealogy, QA timelines).
  • Coordinate production timing with state traceability systems (METRC or equivalent).
  • Schedule production around state inspections, reporting deadlines, and compliance-driven constraints.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks related to production timing or sequencing.
  • Inventory & Material Planning; monitor WIP and Finished Goods; build input allocations based on inventory, demand, and shelf-life.
  • Partner with Inventory and Finance to reconcile AFS and state systems.
  • Demand, Supply & Tradeoff Decisions; review forecasts and communicate capacity constraints; participate in S&OP as the voice of production reality.
  • Own schedule changes and escalation when plans break.
  • Labor & Capacity Planning; build capacity models and translate staffing plans into executable schedules.
  • Quality & Release Timing; coordinate with QA for sampling, testing turnaround, and release timing.
  • Support continuous improvement tied to yield, quality, and efficiency.
  • Systems, Data & KPIs; maintain scheduling data across ERP and traceability systems; track schedule adherence, plan attainment, inventory accuracy, and changeover efficiency.
