Job summary

GCX is seeking a Production Planner / Scheduler to manage master, weekly, and daily production schedules at the Franklin, MA facility. You will analyze demand, inventory, BOMs, routing, and capacity to craft feasible production plans while balancing service levels and costs.

The role requires 3–5 years of planning experience, ERP/MRP proficiency, and the ability to work on the manufacturing floor. On-site position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in production planning or scheduling.
• Experience using an ERP/MRP system in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of work orders, BOMs, routings, inventory, lead times, capacity planning.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain master, weekly, and daily production schedules.
• Analyze orders, forecasts, inventory, BOMs, routings, lead times and capacity.
• Compare sequences and allocate constrained capacity among priorities.
• Develop recommended actions for management when issues exceed authority.
• Identify shortages, bottlenecks and schedule exceptions; coordinate corrective actions.
• Balance customer service, production efficiency, and inventory considerations.
• Advise management on capacity, risks, staffing, or outsourcing needs.
• Lead cross-functional planning with Production, Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service.
• Set and review ERP/MRP planning parameters and horizons.
• Monitor schedule attainment, past-due orders, utilization; propose improvements.
• Develop scenario analyses for demand changes, disruptions, and new products.
• Support S&OP, budgeting, and continuous-improvement in planning.
• Maintain planning data in ERP/MRP and validate assumptions on the floor.
• Perform other duties related to production planning and analysis.
