Job summary

Smiths Group plc is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to release work orders daily and coordinate activities across subassemblies and toplines to meet delivery dates. This role interacts with purchasing and master planning to ensure material availability and smooth work order flow.

The position requires planning workflow for each department based on established sequences and lead times, with ongoing communication to supervisors and agility to adjust schedules when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with master production scheduling and lead times.
• Ability to plan and coordinate workflow across departments.
• Strong communication with purchasing and planning teams.

Responsibilities

• Releases work orders daily to operations that meet the Master Production Schedule.
• Coordinates activities on subassemblies and toplines to meet due dates.
• Communicates with purchasing and master planning regarding material requirements.
• Supports administration of manufacturing work orders through splits and quantity adjustments.
• Reviews MPS to establish sequence and lead time to meet shipping dates.
• Plans and schedules workflow for each department according to sequences and lead times.
• Confers with department supervisors to determine status of projects.
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Physical requirements: stand, walk, use hands, lift up to 25 lbs.
• Other duties may be assigned.
