Job summary

Quick Tie Products, Inc. is seeking a Production Planner to own the finite production schedule and materials plan, ensuring on-time delivery, optimal capacity, and minimal expedites.

The role translates demand from orders, forecasts, and opportunities into an executable plan and coordinates cross-functional handoffs. You will release and maintain work orders, monitor WIP, and communicate risks and recovery plans to Sales and Operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in production planning, scheduling, or related manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems; proficiency with Excel and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the production schedule across multiple departments by aligning load with capacity and labor constraints.
• Convert orders, forecasts and backlog into executable work orders with realistic start/finish dates.
• Sequence jobs to meet promised dates and minimize changeovers.
• Balance short-term expedites with long-term stability; run what-if scenarios.
• Publish realistic promise dates and reschedules; update Customer Service accordingly.
• Flag risks proactively (stockouts or machine downtime).
• Maintain clean WIP and bottleneck data; trigger de-expedites when appropriate.
• Level-load shifts with Operations Supervisors and realign schedules after unplanned events.
• Maintain scheduling data in ERP/MRP; ensure MOS/Router/BOM revisions are current.
