Job summary

Zing Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to coordinate production scheduling, material planning, and inventory control for Lakewood, NJ contract manufacturing operations.

The role entails aligning production schedules with customer demand and lead times, generating requisitions, and maintaining inventory accuracy to support uninterrupted manufacturing. Collaboration with Purchasing, Logistics, and Shipping is essential to meet on-time delivery goals.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze material requirements generated by sales orders and MRP systems.
• Develop, maintain, and manage production schedules to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing.
• Generate purchase requisitions based on material requirements and production needs.
• Establish stocking plans and appropriate inventory levels to support production demand.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Logistics to resolve discrepancies, establish priorities, and expedite material flow.
• Collaborate with Production, Export, and Shipping teams to support customer relationships and resolve freight and shipping issues.
• Evaluate and coordinate material transfers when practical and feasible.
• Partner with Purchasing and Receiving to address material shortages and ensure timely delivery to manufacturing.
• Maintain traceability of WIP and finished goods, working with manufacturing teams to resolve material issues and minimize production delays.
• Coordinate with Logistics to maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, packaging, WIP, and finished goods.
• Meet inventory accuracy targets, service-level goals, and cost objectives.
• Prepare and distribute reports on inventory levels and customer service performance.
• Develop, monitor, and provide monthly finished-goods forecasting reports.
• Review trends, analyze variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
