Job summary

Talentify in Minnesota is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate materials flow and production activities across departments, ensuring on-time customer delivery and reporting on status, inventory, costs, and issues impacting commitments.

Responsibilities include managing production orders, Kanban, and ERP/MRP data, leading daily cross-functional meetings, balancing capacity with demand, and driving Lean improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and at least 2 years in production planning or scheduling within an MRP-driven environment.
• Experience with Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, MRP, and ERP systems; Oracle or comparable ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and production activities to ensure on-time customer delivery.
• Monitor production progress and resolve constraints with timely communication of status, inventory levels, and issues.
• Create, distribute, and maintain shop orders; adjust quantities and dates to align with customer requirements.
• Maintain accuracy of planning data in ERP/MRP systems (routings, lead times, order statuses).
• Lead daily production meetings with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders.
• Schedule customer demand by balancing capacity, machine availability, and requirements.
• Develop production plans that minimize inventory levels and avoid shortages.
• Proactively review material positions and propose recovery actions for shortages or constraints.
• Identify risks to delivery and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
• Support Lean, continuous improvement, and 5S initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, quality standards, and safety in planning and production activities.
