Job summary

Muncie Power Products is seeking a Production Planner to develop and execute the production schedule for the tank line at our Yorktown, IN facility. This role identifies issues that affect the schedule and recommends solutions to maximize resource use while minimizing risk.

You will work with manufacturing, engineering, and support teams to maintain and optimize the schedule, monitor throughput, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing/planning role.
• Experience with lean principles (KanBan, SMED) preferred.
• CPIM/CPSM or Lean belt certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the production schedule for the tank line.
• Analyze material availability, production requirements, and sales to meet delivery needs.
• Track actual output vs plan and communicate gaps and actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and support teams to manage schedules.
• Identify schedule risks and adjust plans; optimize lot sizes and routings.
• Maintain shop capacity planning and update routings and times as needed.
• Coordinate with material handlers and shipping for availability and shipments.
