Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) is seeking a Production Planner in Michigan to enter sales orders, revise production schedules, and coordinate with shipping and engineering to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing, and strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with ERP and planning software is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and production planning software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates.
• Monitors pricing on incoming orders to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays.
• Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts; determines revised plan in event of failures to meet schedules.
• Manages customer relationships by notifying customers of failures to meet expectations and serving as point of contact for information requests.
• Coordinates scheduled shipments with the Shipping Department.
• Reviews and evaluates forecasts.
• Researches late parts and identifies bottlenecks affecting manufacturing.
• Works with engineering to implement changes and monitor BOM issues.
• Expedites late deliveries from outside vendors or sub-contractors as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
