Job summary

Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to execute procurement activities, source suppliers, and develop and negotiate contracts in accordance with RFTA and FTA policies. The role requires coordinating with internal teams, managing bids and RFQs, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in public sector procurement, knowledge of ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle, and a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework or an Associates Degree with 3+ years of public procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Supplier Management: identify and evaluate suppliers based on criteria and maintain relationships.
• Procurement Operations: review requisitions, manage bids, RFPs, RFQs, amendments, and procurement records.
• Contracting & Negotiation: prepare contracts and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Compliance & Policy: ensure activities comply with policies and regulations; support audits.
• Collaboration & Communication: coordinate with internal departments and grant partners on status.
• Training and Process Improvement: guide staff on policies; update procedures and templates.
• Other Duties: perform additional duties as assigned.
