Job summary

Department of Social Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the procurement of goods and services for agency operations at the DSS Home Office. The role requires understanding of state procurement laws, SPCC administration, and the Virginia procurement environment.

Candidate will ensure compliance, manage contract files, and coordinate with divisions to meet mission goals while adhering to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply state procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of state and familiarity with federal government procurement policies for the purchase of goods and services.
• Working knowledge of the Virginia Small Purchase Charge Card Program.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize a variety of procurement processes.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Skill in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other databases, and the eVA procurement system.
• Ability to organize and maintain contract files and records.
• Ability to work independently, managing own time and work.

• Ensure all procurements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
• Serve as SPCC Program Administrator and support internal divisions and cardholders.
