Job summary

Smith & Wesson is seeking a Procurement Buyer in Springfield, MA to manage production and development materials, supplier relationships, and PO execution. You will work with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to ensure material availability for launches and continuous improvement.

Essential duties include supplier performance, RFQ/RFP processes, and cross-functional collaboration to support new product introductions and cost management.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related experience required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and supporting Engineering or NPD activities preferred.
• Strong ERP/MRP system experience; SAP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day performance of a group of suppliers.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and act as the primary contact.
• Monitor supplier capacity to identify and mitigate supply risks.
• Support new supplier onboarding and supplier development initiatives.
• Create, maintain, and manage purchase orders within the ERP system.
