Job summary

Symbotic in Wilmington, MA is seeking an experienced NPI Procurement Manager to lead sourcing for new product initiatives, bridging Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Operations during development. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years in procurement/sourcing or PM, preferably in automation/robotics.
Experience partnering with cross-functional engineering and program management teams during new product development.
Strong understanding of sourcing strategy, category management, and purchase order execution processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong communication and relationship-management skills across engineering, procurement, and supplier partners.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop program-specific sourcing plans for each assigned NPI, retrofit, or cross-functional initiative, aligned with strategic direction.
Guide the project team to the sourcing strategy and feed required sourcing information throughout development.
Represent procurement on engineering and program management activities; attend weekly meetings during the program.
Manage and escalate financial risk and opportunities across the development lifecycle.
Manage and escalate execution risks; direct PO execution to stay aligned with strategy.
Partner with category buyers and strategic commodity leaders to align program needs with supplier capacity and pricing.
Drive engineering toward AVL and preferred suppliers, minimizing unapproved sources.
Ensure aftersales and total-lifecycle decisions—spare-parts, service, warranty—are considered in sourcing.
Provide quotes and should-cost data to Strategic Sourcing to support cost models.
Coordinate across engineering, program management, category buyers, and suppliers on cost, schedule, and quality.
Identify and escalate material and supply risks to leadership with recommended resolutions.
Report program-level procurement status to cross-functional and executive stakeholders.
Support transition from development into steady-state Sourcing Operations.
