Job summary

Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA is seeking a full-time Buyer to manage procurement of production and development materials, ensuring quality, delivery, cost, and service goals.

You will work with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Accounting, and Supply Chain to ensure material availability and support product launches. Strong ERP/MRP and SAP experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years procurement or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Strong ERP/MRP experience required; SAP preferred.
• Experience with purchase orders, supplier relations, and sourcing.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day performance of a group of suppliers.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Monitor supplier capacity to identify and mitigate supply risks.
• Support new supplier onboarding.
• Support supplier development and continuous improvement efforts.
