Job summary

AtWork! seeks a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to support purchasing for manufacturing operations. You will review demand, issue POs, and liaise with suppliers to ensure material availability and pricing aligns with production needs.

The role emphasizes ERP usage, accurate data maintenance, and collaboration with Receiving, Scheduling, and Accounting to resolve issues and optimize material flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years of related experience required or preferred.
• ERP systems experience and strong computer skills expected.
• Experience in electronics, cable, or electromechanical assemblies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review material demand and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers.
• Create and send purchase orders using an ERP system.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate product, vendor, pricing, cost, and lead-time information.
• Enter and update parts and vendors within the ERP system.
• Monitor inventory needs and assist with stocking recommendations.
• Identify potential material shortages or delays.
• Work with Receiving to resolve issues involving incoming materials.
• Communicate material delays, defects, and availability issues to Production and other internal teams.
• Coordinate with Scheduling regarding material deliveries and production requirements.
• Work with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and pricing issues.
• Research product pricing and availability.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance and assist with resolving supplier-related issues.
• Assist with defective product documentation and returns.
• Perform additional purchasing and supply chain responsibilities as needed.
