Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a procurement professional to coordinate purchasing, manage supplier relationships, and optimize inventory and costs. You will work with internal teams to secure materials, review invoices, and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Educational/experience requirements as listed: High School Diploma or GED; 1–2 years purchasing/expediting; 3–5 years in manufacturing procurement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all purchasing activities, review and process purchase requisitions, and place purchase orders.
• Recommend and/or determine method of procurement; expedite orders to meet schedule changes.
• Review and manage invoice issues, shipping errors, late deliveries, and order cancellations.
• Ensure appropriate inventory levels; meet procurement and inventory KPIs.
• Negotiate prices within budget; create competitive bidding for lowest total costs.
• Develop and maintain inventory plan to optimize freight costs.
• Maintain procurement records: purchases, costs, delivery, quality, inventories.
• Discuss issues with internal groups/vendors to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor market trends to reduce prices and costs via standardization and value analysis.
• Interview vendors to obtain information on quality and price; ensure performance.
• Maintain supplier sources and back-up options.
• Collect data for vendor performance reviews and distribute for action.
