Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking a purchasing professional to coordinate all procurement activities, place orders, and optimize inventory to meet production needs.

You will engage with vendors, negotiate prices, manage invoices and shipping issues, and monitor KPIs to reduce costs while ensuring supply continuity. Strong Excel/SAP skills and manufacturing procurement experience are preferred; High School Diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of purchasing/expediting work experience.
• Proficient in Excel; SAP knowledge preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with procurement knowledge.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all purchasing activities, review and process purchase requisitions, and place purchase orders.
• Recommend and/or determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid; Expedite orders as needed to meet schedule.
• Review and manage invoice issues, shipping errors, late deliveries, and cancellations, keeping stakeholders updated.
• Ensure appropriate inventory levels are attained and managed, meeting procurement KPIs.
• Negotiate prices within budget and create competitive bidding to reduce costs.
• Maintain procurement records and vendor performance reports.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects within procurement.
