Job summary

Timberlyne is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement, issue purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain inventory control. You will collaborate with staff across departments to forecast needs and base buying decisions on demand.

The ideal candidate is analytically minded with strong negotiation and communication skills, capable of implementing procurement strategies to minimize costs while preserving quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of buyer or procurement experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related disciplines preferred.
• Experience with ERP software, preferably Visual by Infor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain current inventory and ensure stock levels are appropriate.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with suppliers and partners; act as primary contact.
• Prepare and implement negotiation tactics to purchase materials cost-effectively while maintaining quality.
• Approve and issue purchase orders per policy, terms, and track activity.
• Handle correspondence on over-shipments, delivery changes, prices, and notify affected departments.
• Coordinate purchase orders with logistics for delivery.
• Research new suppliers and establish preferred vendor lists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
