WEG Company in Bluffton, IN is seeking a Buyer to lead procurement of raw materials and services, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with quality standards. The role requires data-driven decision making, adaptability, and strong communication.

You will issue purchase orders, evaluate supplier quotes, manage inventory, and collaborate with finance on invoicing and terms, while applying Lean and Kanban principles and ERP/MRP systems to minimize total purchasing costs and improve supplier

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain may substitute for degree.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing procedures for raw materials and total product cost concepts.
• Experience managing inventory levels and implementing cost-control strategies.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Kanban systems.
• Proven contract negotiation skills for favorable terms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of UL and ISO-9000 quality standards.

Responsabilidades

• Procure materials, parts, and supplies cost-effectively while meeting quality standards.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders per contracts and policies.
• Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure best total cost and delivery.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to drive cost savings.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with finance to ensure accurate invoice payments.
• Use procurement tools to minimize total purchasing costs while maintaining efficiency.
• Resolve defective material issues with users, vendors, and customers including DMRs.
• Process RMA requests for incoming quality issues with suppliers.
