Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support its growing portfolio of programs.

You will serve as a liaison between Procurement and internal stakeholders, guiding procurement activities from bidding through post-award execution to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and services. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, vendor management and contract negotiation skills, with experience in sourcing and managing vendor relationships within complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with manufacturers, subcontractors and fabricators.

Responsibilities

• Procurement planning during the bidding phase, understanding contract specs and bills of material.
• Post award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs.
• Transferring bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team and engaging with the project team on procurement planning.
• Capturing and communicating market intelligence across projects and programs.
• Reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
