Job summary

FlexGen, a leader in energy storage software and services, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead global procurement for major BESS projects. You will optimize material, component, and service sourcing, negotiate high-value contracts, and manage supplier relationships across life cycles in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive cost efficiency, quality control, and timely delivery while aligning with ESG goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in energy storage or renewable energy.
Strong understanding of the BESS industry, including components, suppliers, and industry standards.
Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost management, and strategic sourcing in a complex technical environment.
Familiarity with procurement tools, ERP systems, and project management software.
Technical understanding of battery storage systems, electrical components, or energy-related technologies is an advantage.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing procurement challenges.
Knowledge of sustainability practices and regulatory requirements in the energy and storage sectors.
Time management and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies for BESS projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and budgets.
Identify key suppliers and vendors, fostering long-term relationships while maintaining pricing and reliability.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigation of supply chain risks.
Monitor industry trends and market conditions affecting pricing and product specs in the BESS market.
Manage vendor selection, audits, contracts, and compliance with specifications and delivery schedules.
Maintain effective communication with suppliers and address performance issues or disruptions.
Oversee end-to-end procurement for BESS components including batteries and inverters.
Manage purchase orders, shipping, and receiving per company policies.
Track procurement performance metrics and report to management.
Lead negotiations for high-value contracts and develop cost models for optimization.
Drive savings through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and innovative procurement methods.
Identify and manage geopolitical, economic, and regulatory procurement risks.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and ESG goals.
Drive continuous improvement, reporting, and training for junior buyers.
