Job summary

Core & Main LP in the United States is seeking a Procurement Analyst who will maintain proactive communication with management on purchasing and inventory decisions, generate reports, and drive action on underperforming product lines.

You will analyze purchasing data, manage supplier confirmations, optimize stock levels, negotiate prices, and support inventory strategies to maximize profitability.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline; 2–5 years of related experience.
• MS/MA with 2–4 years of related experience in some areas.
• Certification is required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates daily purchasing reports and prioritizes purchase orders to maximize profit.
• Verifies pricing and quantities, follows up with vendors, and attaches confirmations to POs.
• Works the Back Order and Expedite Queues to keep ship dates accurate.
• Conducts price discrepancy analysis with accounting partners.
• Aims for target freight levels to maximize margins.
• Manages dead stock and aged inventory; monitors fill rates.
• Negotiates prices with vendors and seeks best pricing.
• Handles some commodity purchasing under guidance from Purchasing lead.
