Fit Recruiting is seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to lead procurement and supply chain strategy for a Mobile-area client in industrial manufacturing. You will develop vendor networks, optimize costs, and ensure timely material delivery to support project schedules.

The role requires strong negotiation, ERP proficiency, and the ability to build KPI dashboards, manage budgets, and collaborate with Estimating and Project Management.

Qualifications

• Strong background in procurement and strategic sourcing.
• Experience building procurement and vendor strategies.
• Expert negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
• Knowledge of contract language and commercial terms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement and supply chain strategy.
• Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs.
• Build and maintain a competitive vendor network.
• Lead bidding and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, freight, and vendor programs.
• Source domestic and international materials as needed.
• Monitor budgets and track costs against budget.
• Track material cost escalation and inform PM and Finance.
• Partner with Estimating and Purchasing on sourcing.
• Process and manage purchase orders to support schedules.
• Track and expedite orders to meet timelines.
• Manage inventory allocation and job costing in ERP.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
• Resolve vendor and contract issues.
