Our client, a leading industrial manufacturing organization serving critical infrastructure markets, is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to build and lead an enterprise-wide procurement function across a complex, multi-site manufacturing business.

This is a high-impact transformation opportunity for a procurement executive who enjoys creating structure, strengthening supplier strategy, developing teams, and using data and commercial discipline to drive measurable value.

The Vice President of Procurement will lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, materials availability, spend visibility, procurement governance, and cost improvement across the organization. This leader will also play a critical role in ensuring production continuity and supporting continued growth in a project-driven, make-to-order manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and implement an enterprise procurement strategy and operating model across multiple businesses and manufacturing locations
• Lead strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, and major purchasing initiatives
• Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise-wide spend, consolidate suppliers, and improve commercial terms
• Establish consistent supplier qualification, performance management, scorecards, and corrective-action processes
• Improve visibility into spend, contracts, supplier performance, material availability, and procurement KPIs
• Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Quality, and plant leadership to ensure critical materials are available to support production and customer commitments
• Drive measurable cost reduction, margin improvement, working-capital performance, and total-cost optimization
• Strengthen supply-risk management, alternate-source strategies, and business continuity planning
• Assess and develop the existing procurement organization while establishing stronger processes, accountability, and governance

The role spans strategic sourcing, supplier performance, contracting, production support, analytics, cost reduction, working capital, supply risk, and organizational development.

Ideal Background:

• 12+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or materials leadership experience
• Significant procurement responsibility within a complex industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience managing $100M+ in spend, ideally across multiple sites, business units, or purchasing teams
• Proven experience transforming or building a procurement organization, operating model, processes, and governance
• Strong strategic sourcing, category management, contract negotiation, and supplier-management capabilities
• Experience with production-critical raw materials and complex supplier relationships
• Multi-site leadership experience within a decentralized operating environment
• Experience in engineered-to-order, make-to-order, project-driven, or variable-demand manufacturing
• Strong analytical capabilities, including spend analytics, KPI development, and procurement reporting
• Demonstrated ability to drive measurable cost improvement while protecting quality, service, production continuity, and supplier performance
• Experience assessing, developing, and building high-performing procurement teams

The internal profile specifically prioritizes transformation experience over already holding a VP title, meaning a strong Director or Senior Director from a sophisticated industrial organization could also be compelling if they have the scale and readiness to lead enterprise-wide.

This position is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and requires an onsite leadership presence, along with travel to other manufacturing locations.

This is not a purely corporate procurement role. The right leader will be equally comfortable developing enterprise strategy, negotiating major supplier agreements, analyzing fragmented spend data, working through plant-level material challenges, and developing the procurement team.
