Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Buyer to source raw materials, parts, machinery, and services for operations. The role involves analyzing price trends, negotiating with suppliers, and selecting low-cost, quality-conscious sources to meet schedules.

You will review proposals, manage POs, and maintain records while coordinating with internal teams to drive cost efficiency and supply reliability across programs.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of procurement experience or related role.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supplier interactions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proactive communicator able to influence across levels.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Review, coordinate, and prioritize procurement activities for POs and requisitions.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to ensure lowest total cost.
• Coordinate supplier qualification to meet drawings and specifications.
• Prepare, review, and approve purchase orders; track supplier status.
• Maintain orderly electronic filing and reporting.
• Assist in make/buy data and procurement strategies.
• Escalate and resolve non-conforming supplier issues.
• Support special projects as needed.
