Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the ONESOURCE Income Tax portfolio. You will define a long-term technical vision, set engineering standards, and guide AI agent architecture, security, and cloud strategy across AWS and GCP.

The role emphasizes mentorship of senior engineers, cross-functional collaboration with Product and Security, and representing engineering to leadership while driving high-impact initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering with senior/lead or principal-level leadership.
• Strong experience with .NET, Angular, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP, including secure design and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term technical vision for the ONESOURCE Income Tax portfolio.
• Set architecture patterns, standards, and best practices for future applications.
• Lead design for AI agents and expand MCP server capabilities.
• Guide secure design to pass third-party tests and SOC audits.
• Oversee cloud/infrastructure on AWS and GCP and modernization efforts.
• Communicate complex technical strategies to executives and stakeholders.
• Mentor Senior and Lead engineers and foster engineering culture.
