Job summary

Thomson Reuters Corp. in Frisco, Texas is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the ONESOURCE Income Tax team. You will set the long-term technical vision, define architecture, and drive secure design across AWS and GCP environments.

You will mentor Senior/Lead engineers, collaborate with Product and Security, and lead complex, high-impact initiatives to modernize legacy systems and deliver high-availability enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with senior/lead/principal-level leadership.
• Strong experience with .NET/C#, Angular, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on AWS and GCP experience across applications and infrastructure.
• Proven track record designing large, high-availability enterprise applications and modernizing legacy systems.
• Solid secure software design, including Snyk tooling, penetration testing, and secure coding.
• Familiarity with SOC audits and compliance controls.
• Experience leading through influence, setting patterns and standards.
• Excellent communication with Product, Security, and leadership.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business results.

Responsibilities

• Technical vision and strategy: set the long-term vision for the ONESOURCE Income Tax portfolio.
• Architecture and standards: define patterns, standards, and best practices for future apps.
• Agentic AI: design architecture for AI agents and MCP servers enhancements.
• Security and compliance: lead secure design, SOC audits, and third-party testing readiness.
• Cloud and infrastructure: guide AWS and GCP-based design, maintenance, and modernization.
• Complex, high-risk initiatives: lead high-impact projects and review architectures.
• Technology selection: evaluate and roll out new technologies across teams.
• Stakeholder partnership: work with Product Owners, ISRM/Security, and leadership.
• Communication: convey technical strategy to executives and engineers.
• Mentorship and culture: coach Senior/Lead engineers and grow engineering culture.
