Job summary

Prism Electric, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead cost estimation and design-support during design-build and design-assist projects. You will interface with General Contractors and Architects/Engineers, delivering value-added pricing and practical design solutions from concept to detailed drawings.

The role emphasizes accurate estimating, cost-trend monitoring, and collaboration with operations to build successful project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of estimating experience on commercial/industrial projects.
• Experience with large commercial/industrial projects from concept to close-out.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong communication skills and employment stability.
• Familiarity with Accubid, AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain contact with GC and A/E to facilitate preconstruction.
• Prepare preliminary, schematic, design development, and construction document estimates.
• Ensure accuracy of estimates including general conditions.
• Monitor cost trends to detect overruns during preconstruction.
• Assist in design decisions, value engineering, scheduling and constructability reviews.
• Support staffing discussions for project teams and build a project plan.
