Job summary

Abbott Construction in Seattle, WA seeks a Preconstruction Manager who can lead or support preconstruction for multiple projects from pursuit of an RFQ through construction commencement. This is a high-level strategy role focused on mitigating risk and maximizing value, coordinating with VP of Acquisition, Director of Preconstruction, and Project Executives to align goals and schedules.

You will mentor teams, develop win strategies, manage charters, and participate in cost analysis and VE.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction-related experience in a preconstruction role.
• Experience supporting multiple projects from RFQ through construction commencement.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret general business/technical docs.
• Willingness to travel if required.

Responsibilities

• Be a champion for expressing the importance of preconstruction, how it impacts projects, and demonstrating collaboration at its finest
• Track status of all current preconstruction projects monthly with Director of Preconstruction and provide report to Vice President of Acquisition
• Audit projects in preconstruction to verify the status of current activities, what is needed, and determine where project risks are
• Ensure effective and proactive communication is maintained at all levels on the project teams.
• As the project transitions from preconstruction to construction, align risks, forecasted margin, schedule, and manpower prior to the Internal Preconstruction Meeting
• Develop win strategies for project pursuits, along with win strategies for issues within projects in preconstruction
