Job summary

Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers in Hoover, AL is seeking a highly organized Preconstruction Coordinator for our Real Estate Development team. You will serve as the connective tissue, supporting Project Managers and leadership to align 3rd-party consultants and regulatory deadlines.

You will track deliverables, assist in drafting RFPs, monitor permits, and help prepare materials for Planning Commission meetings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Architecture, Urban Planning, Business Administration or a related field.
2+ years of professional experience in real estate development, civil engineering coordination, or related construction field.
Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, or Monday.com).
Familiarity with reading site plans, surveys and architectural drawings.
Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
A proactive, detail-oriented, organized approach and the ability to push third parties for timely results.

Responsibilities

Bridge communications with external consultants (civil, structural, environmental, geotechnical) and architects.
Deliverable tracking: ensure reports and site plans are submitted on time and meet standards.
Assist in drafting RFPs, reviewing bids, and processing consultant invoices.
Monitor permits, zoning applications, and utility connections with municipalities.
Prepare materials for Planning Commission or City Council meetings.
Maintain organized records of municipal approvals and conditions of development.
Maintain and update master project schedules and alert leadership to delays.
Manage project documents (Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint) for latest drawings.
Prepare weekly or bi-weekly status reports for executives.
