Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Senior Practice Administrator to lead daily operations for one or more physician practices. This role ensures efficient patient flow, staff satisfaction, and cost-effective care across locations in the MA area.

The position requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and collaboration with billing, IT, and physician services to meet quality targets and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of healthcare management or practice management experience with physicians and staff.
• Five years of healthcare management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily practice operations of one or more employed practices to ensure efficiency, patient flow and satisfaction.
• Oversees day-to-day personnel issues including hiring, evaluations, discipline and coaching; orients new employees.
• Monitors practice expenses; manages accounts payable, approves expenditures, and handles equipment/supplies.
• Conducts monthly meetings with providers and staff to discuss policies and improve care delivery.
• Collaborates with billing/finance on AR, denial trends, referrals, and staff training needs.
• Assists in preparing and implementing the annual practice budget and monitors performance to the budget.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, Meaningful Use, and quality measures in coordination with Physician Services.
• Promotes cost-effective, high-quality care and patient satisfaction; supports performance improvement.
• Liaises between practices and hospital departments (Physician Services, IT, Purchasing, PHO, Finance, etc.).
