Job summary

Tufts Medicine Cancer Center in Stoneham is seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to manage daily practice operations and related physician activities, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, high‑quality patient care. The role covers one location with ten or more providers or two+ sites with eight+ providers.

You will provide managerial leadership to providers and staff, supervise employees, oversee budgeting, hiring, evaluations, and policy compliance, and collaborate with billing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience such as Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field and two (2) years of relevant business experience.
• Two (2) years of healthcare management or practice management experience working directly with physicians and practice members.
• High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years of relevant business experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily practice operations to ensure efficiency, patient flow and satisfaction.
• Handles day-to-day personnel issues including hiring, performance evaluations, discipline and coaching; ensures orientation for new employees.
• Monitors and controls practice expenses; manages accounts payable, expenditures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Conducts monthly meetings with all practice providers and staff to discuss policies and updates.
• Collaborates with billing and finance to understand AR, denial trends, referrals, and staff training needs.
• Assists in preparation and implementation of the annual practice budget and monitors monthly budget performance.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, meaningful use measures, and quality metrics in coordination with Physician Services.
• Promotes cost-effective, high-quality care and optimizes physician productivity within budget.
• Acts as liaison between practices and hospital departments (Physician Services, Information Services, Purchasing, PHO, Finance, etc.)

Education
