American Vanguard Corporation in Irvine, CA seeks a Manager – Program Management (PMO) to lead a portfolio of strategic business improvement initiatives. The role combines hands-on execution with executive communication, driving measurable value across functions and global teams.

The PMO Manager will partner with Finance and business leaders to develop business cases, budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional programs and portfolios.
• Strong financial and business acumen including budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis.
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain or other operationally complex environments.
• PMP or equivalent project/program management certification is preferred.
• Experience in publicly traded companies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of multiple strategic business improvement initiatives across Business Units, functions, and workstreams.
• Build and maintain integrated program plans with milestones, dependencies, risks, and key decisions.
• Drive deliverables with project teams, resolving roadblocks and ensuring accountability for timing and outcomes.
• Monitor program health and identify risks impacting delivery, financials, or value realization.
• Escalate issues and develop practical recovery plans with stakeholders.
• Develop executive-level reporting on progress, KPIs, financial performance, and value realization.
• Aggregate end-to-end program reporting for leadership and board discussions.
• Deliver monthly dashboards and KPI reporting for key stakeholders and Global Leadership meetings.
• Own program financial tracking and partner with Finance to evaluate budgets, forecasts, and ROI.
• Review financial assumptions and identify gaps between approved business cases and actual performance.
• Coordinate with Finance to validate reporting and investment assumptions.
• Establish and improve PMO standards, templates, tools, and governance frameworks.
• Apply best practices in project/program management to fit complexity and needs.
• Support operational and business improvement initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, technology, and support functions.
• Coordinate program activities across organizational boundaries including global teams and external partners.
• Partner with HR on change management and adoption tracking.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
• Prepare concise materials for senior leaders and adapt communication across levels.
• Provide delivery oversight from planning through implementation and benefits realization.
