Job summary

AMERICAN VANGUARD is seeking a PMO Manager to lead the portfolio of strategic programs at our Irvine headquarters. The role focuses on governance, interdependency mapping, and risk management to ensure projects deliver expected value on time and within budget.

You will report to senior leadership and coordinate with finance, HR, and external partners. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in complex program management, strong communication skills, and experience with PMO methodologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in complex program management with risk mitigation and governance
• Experience with project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
• Background in financial reporting (EBITDA, gross margins) and governance in a publicly traded company
• Ability to report to executive leadership and coordinate cross-functionally across global offices
• Change management knowledge; Prosci or equivalent certification a plus
• Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, chemical or life sciences industries preferred
• Strong communication skills for senior stakeholders and external partners
• Proficiency in data visualization/reporting tools to support dashboards and KPIs

Responsibilities

• Monitor KPIs, timing, dependencies, issues, and risks across BUs and workstreams
• Aggregate end-to-end program progress reporting for Board and Leadership
• Deliver monthly dashboards and KPIs for stakeholders and coordinate Global Leadership meetings
• Manage overall program budget tracking, forecast variances and financial performance against business cases
• Establish and improve PMO standards, templates, and governance frameworks
• Identify roadblocks to value realization and elevate risks with solutions
• Coordinate with Finance to validate reporting, business cases and investments
• Apply PMO best practices and ensure teams use appropriate tools and methodologies
• Coordinate program support across organizational boundaries and engage cross-functional teams
• Communicate effectively to senior stakeholders and executive teams
• Partner with HR and business leads for change management and adoption tracking
• Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants engaged in transformation initiatives
• Provide overall delivery and oversight for improvement initiatives
