Job summary

The Oregon Secretary of State seeks a Project Management Office Manager (IT Manager 2) in Salem, OR, with in-state remote options. The role leads PMO activities, aligns projects with strategic priorities, and manages organizational change initiatives while guiding six direct reports.

Ideal candidates have six years of supervision or three years with a related bachelor’s degree, with PMP or change management credentials preferred. Salary reflects non-PERS and PERS rates.

Qualifications

• Six years of supervision/management experience or three years plus a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Direct supervision with authority to hire, transfer, promote, discharge, or address grievances.
• Transcripts may be required to credit college degrees or coursework.
• Project management experience at scale with budget/schedule ownership.
• Leadership across a diverse team in a political environment.
• PMP or Organizational Change Management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide project direction and remove obstacles to keep projects on track.
• Engage with agency leadership on initiation, resources, and alignment with priorities.
• Develop and manage organization change management templates and metrics.
• Direct day-to-day PMO operations and coach six direct reports.
