Job summary

Clarios, LLC is seeking a Plant Buyer to partner with manufacturing plants, translating plant priorities into procurement solutions that improve cost, supplier performance, and supply continuity.

You will build relationships with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and engineering, influencing sourcing decisions and leading RFQ events while managing risks and pursuing cost reductions across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, finance, or related field required.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain, or plant operations required.
• Lean techniques and facilitation (A3, VSM, Kaizen).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, commercial, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Curious and willing to learn plant operations, procurement processes, sourcing, and supplier management.
• Strong Excel skills, Power BI, RFQ Tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary procurement partner for assigned plants, aligning plant priorities with procurement strategies.
• Influence sourcing decisions using market intelligence, supplier insights, and TCO analyses.
• Lead RFQ/Bid events to reduce costs and identify solutions.
• Analyze supplier spend for savings, benchmarking, consolidation, and opportunities.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with Plant Finance to understand spend trends and price changes.
• Identify quick wins and develop sustainable sourcing strategies.
• Ensure procurement enables plant operations and mitigates supply risks.
• Negotiate and finalize supplier agreements with Legal support.
