Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Project Director to drive transformational performance on Peptide API projects in the United States. You will lead cross-functional teams, align with operations, and ensure seamless execution from concept to manufacturing readiness, delivering value to patients.

You will partner with R&D, QA, procurement, ME&C and PDS&T while advocating best-in-class technology, AI-enabled processes, and rigorous risk management. Significant travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent technical degree in engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of Senior Engineering/Projects/Operations leadership experience.
• Experience across AbbVie manufacturing technologies and global matrix organizations.
• Strong communication skills with senior leadership and partners.
• Proven negotiation and financial planning capabilities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites in the US and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to achieve strategic peptide manufacturing project milestones in the US.
• Manage complex capital projects ensuring timely, compliant delivery.
• Ensure compliance with AbbVie EHS standards and zero incidents during construction.
• Develop strategies for concept studies, design, procurement, and contracting.
• Drive AI and digitalization in project management and development.
• Negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and ensure alignment with manufacturing schedules.
• Collaborate with procurement, QA, PDS&T, ME&C, and R&D to align decisions.
