Job summary

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) seeks a People Services Director to lead benefits, compensation, performance, and compliance across its complex portfolio of organizations. You will partner with senior leaders to drive strategy, standardize HR processes, and build a high-performing team on-site in Bentonville.

You will guide HR policy, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver data-driven insights while navigating fast-paced, evolving environments and ongoing organizational changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience across complex organizations, including employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and strategic business partnership, with 5+ years of experience leading and developing direct reports.
• Experience across multi-entity organizations; startups, healthcare, higher education, museum/cultural institutions, philanthropy, or similarly complex environments is strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of human resources practices, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and employment law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and PowerPoint for reporting; familiarity with Workday HCM is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to engage senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategy to support diverse portfolio; advise leaders on organizational change and HR issues.
• Provide support to People Services partners and management on complex and sensitive questions; oversee investigations and termination matters.
• Apply risk management across projects to ensure retention, engagement, and efficiency.
• Build culture in partnership with the Chief People Officer and lead the People Services team.
• Drive analytics, HR process improvements, and executive-level reporting to inform leadership decisions.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team and drive cross-entity consistency.
