Job summary

Nexteer Automotive is seeking aStrategic Commodity Buyer for Electronics to source and manage PCBA components for EPS systems. The role requires negotiating with suppliers, optimizing costs, and ensuring quality and delivery performance across a global supplier base.

The ideal candidate will drive sourcing strategies with engineering and quality teams, manage risks, and maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 26262, RoHS, and APQP. Hybrid travel will be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years in procurement or supply chain management.
• Experience in sourcing PCBA and automotive supplier management.
• Understanding of PCBA manufacturing and SMT processes.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (AEC-Q, PPAP, APQP).
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for PCBA and electronic components in EPS systems.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings while ensuring supplier accountability.
• Manage relationships with PCBA suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support make vs. buy decisions and dual sourcing to ensure supply continuity.
• Collaborate with engineering/R&D to align sourcing with new product development.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 26262, RoHS, REACH, APQP).
• Maintain procurement records and supplier agreements in ERP systems.
