Job summary

Nexteer Automotive is seeking a Commodity Manager – Electronics in Saginaw, MI to lead PCBA sourcing for EPS systems. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage cost, quality, and delivery, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize the electronics supply chain.

The role requires 5+ years in procurement, strong negotiation, and knowledge of automotive electronics standards. Occasional travel for supplier visits and audits is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in procurement or supply chain management.
• Experience in PCBA sourcing and automotive supplier management.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and SMT processes.
• Familiarity with automotive electronic quality standards.
• Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for PCBA and electronics in EPS systems.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to improve cost and supply security.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
• Manage PCBA supplier relationships and ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Monitor KPIs and drive cost reduction initiatives (VA/VE, localization, DFM/DFA).
• Support Make vs. Buy decisions and dual sourcing.
• Collaborate with engineering/R&D to align sourcing with new product development.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 26262, RoHS, REACH, APQP.
• Maintain procurement records in ERP.
