Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking an experienced payroll professional to lead and support our payroll team in processing weekly payroll for office and field staff. The role ensures timely tax filings, benefits processing, and close collaboration with HR and Accounting.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in accounting and 3+ years of related experience, with strong multitasking and communication skills to maintain accurate payroll records and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 3+ years of related experience. Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support payroll staff.
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems for accurate processing of payroll transactions (salaries, benefits, 401k, garnishments, taxes, deductions).
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll updates (new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates).
  • Process weekly payroll for office and field employees.
  • Provide assistance to Human Resources as needed.
  • Process weekly employee expense reimbursements.
  • File payroll taxes weekly, quarterly, and year-end; process W2s.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records to auditors.
  • Provide assistance to Accounting Department.
  • Download and upload data files weekly for health and dental insurance.
  • Process company credit card transactions.
