Job summary

Jenison Public Schools is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Analyst to coordinate payroll processing and fringe benefits district-wide, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Accounting Services. The role requires strong accounting software skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to handle confidential information with tact and accuracy.

Responsibilities include budgeting, time sheet review, tax and retirement reporting, and supporting annual contracts and ORS submissions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of payroll and/or employee benefits experience (school experience preferred).
• Knowledge of wage and hour laws, workers' compensation, FMLA, and related regulations.
• Advanced report writing and spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to work with a comprehensive payroll system and related accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing detailed salary and benefit budgets.
• Review time sheets and payroll records for compliance.
• Process payroll and related tax/retirement reports.
• Maintain deduction master information and tax tables.
• Assist in annual contracts, wage memos, and new hire information.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditors.
