Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years college experience or 2 years' experience in healthcare or combination of education and experience.
• Proven ability to manage patient information, verify eligibility, and communicate with patients and payers.
• Strong customer service, organization, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain authorization for patient care (initial, re-authorization, follow-up).
• Follow approved guidelines for routine patient and payer interactions.
• Collect, review, and document demographic, insurance, and financial information with patients and payers.
• Maintain progress/tracking reports on outstanding authorization to ensure timely processing.
• Work closely with clinical teams and referral sources regarding authorization needs.
• Assist billing with claims issues due to insurance authorization denials.
• Verify insurance eligibility; contact patients and departments with any negative outcomes.
