Summary

At East River Medical Imaging our mission is to consistently provide the highest quality and availability of diagnostic imaging with compassion and comfort for our patients Each of our physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology Together they represent all areas of sub specialty medical imaging including cross sectional musculoskeletal oncologic and neuroradiology The Patient Access Specialist monitors incoming patient orders and gathers information needed to complete the pre authorization and scheduling of an order Evaluates portions to be paid by the customer as well as perform all insurance related assignments as instructed

Duties
  • Obtain authorization for patient care initial authorization re authorization follow up on prior authorization etcFollow approved guidelines and policies regarding routine patient and payer interactionsCollect review discuss and document demographic insurance and financial information with patients and payersMaintain progresstracking reports on outstanding authorization to ensure timely request receipt and processing of authorizationWork closely with the clinical teams and referral sources regarding current and future authorization needsAssist billing with claims issues due to insurance authorization denialsVerify insurance eligibility; contact patients and departments with any negative outcomes

Qualifications
