Job summary

Blue State is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Partnerships team. You’ll support the new business engine by tracking the pipeline, project-managing proposals from RFP to contract, and coordinating input from strategists, creatives, and technologists under tight deadlines.

You’ll help nonprofits and brands understand needs, assemble winning responses, and strengthen client relationships. The role involves research, writing, and cross-functional collaboration to grow our pipeline

Qualifications

• 3–5 years managing complex, deadline-driven projects with multiple contributors.
• Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising (donor programs, membership, development priorities) and ability to speak nonprofit language.
• Strong business writing and editing skills; able to draft memos, proposals and client-ready materials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFP responses, proposals and pitches from start to finish with timelines and owners.
• Review RFPs and translate client needs into a winning plan and team responsibilities.
• Draft and edit memos, proposals, and collateral for executives.
• Manage sales lifecycle logistics from initial conversation to contracting.
• Participate in qualifying calls with senior leadership to clarify goals and constraints.
