Job summary

D2B is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Controller to own the day-to-day finance function. This hands-on role covers Xero, WorkflowMax, construction payment claims, job billing, payroll, AP/AR, and month-end, with a focus on improving systems and processes.

Starting at 15–20 hours per week, the position is ideal for a senior finance professional already serving multiple clients or businesses; as the business grows, there is potential to expand to full-time and broaden responsibilities

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of financial management or senior accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Xero and WorkflowMax.
• Experience with construction payment claims and job-based billing.
• Strong AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Independent, proactive, detail-oriented with problem-solving.
• Ability to scale finance processes in a growing SME.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day finance function, provide visibility over financial performance.
• Prepare regular management reports and financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Prepare, manage, and submit construction progress claims and payment claims.
• Manage job-based billing and supplier invoices; monitor payments.
• Use Xero and WorkflowMax to maintain data integrity and improve processes.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Review finance processes and drive improvements and system integrations.
• Future scope includes GST, FBT, year-end prep and broader compliance.
