Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a senior part-time bookkeeper to own the day-to-day finance function, including AR and collections via phone, AP processing, BAS, and cash flow forecasting. The role requires independence, accuracy, and proactive collaboration with leadership.

You will work remotely, align hours to Australian business times, and maintain audit-ready records while communicating clearly with directors about financial health and risks.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years’ hands-on, full-cycle bookkeeping experience including AP/AR, bank reconciliations and BAS preparation.
• Proven ability to phone collect overdue payments and contact clients directly to resolve disputes.
• Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and budgets with reporting against actuals.
• Proficient in Xero (or comparable cloud accounting) and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Accounts Receivable process, including invoicing, collections calls and dispute resolution.
• Manage Accounts Payable processing, supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations.
• Prepare BAS accurately and liaise with external accountant as needed.
• Forecast cash flow and build budgets; monitor performance against budget and flag risks.
• Maintain audit-ready, well-documented financial records; operate daily with discipline and independence.
